I bought the Corpse Bride DVD last Friday together with my Hyde Faith album \( >w<)/♥ (i'll talk more about my hyde's faith album another time)~ hehe XD

I must say Corpse Bride is REALLY REALLYYYYYYY BEAUTIFULLY DONEEEE~~!!!! From the stage setbacks, to the characters and everything!!! the whole stop motion animation is fascinating!!! i can say it's breath-taking! yes, yes, that's the word. The story itself is quite a gd one. The plot is interesting of coz, to have a dead bride married to the living, haha! The expressive facial expressions and gestures of the characters makes u experience the heart breaking feeling and all the inner emotions of the characters. The animation is a musical type of animation story full of small subtle jokes, love and humour. And it will definitely earn some teardrops at the end of whole story. Really touching~~ _(>.<_)

If you watched the animation for the first time, without knowing anything about the making.. then you are bound to be suprised that the animation is done by stop motion! Stop motion animation is done by capturing the animating objects frame by frame. FYI, 1 second of a video takes 24 frames (if in PAL) or 29.97 frames (if in NTSC). It is like so hard to image.... how a stop motion animation can make such smooth movements and expressive expressions!! it looks as if the animation was made using 3D. it really awed me when i started watching it. i couldnt stop tinking how fasinating the animators are when they did this! the amount of time, the amount of concentration, and the amount of experience to be able to make these movements SO REALLL!!!! this is just more than a simple animation for entertainment... IT IS AN ART PIECE!!! Especially the corpse bride's wedding gown... the movement of the cloth in the wind and how the cloth moves in every single action were really very beautifully well done, absolutely astonishing!!! the little mechanicals they put in the head of the characters were really cool too!! these small mechanics actually helped made many of the expressions more lively and real! really interesting knowledge i get when i watch the makings of the animation! n it really made me feel want to try out stop motion animation!!!

the character design is really awesome too! each character has their very own characteristic and u can actually recognise them in an instance! this is wat i call a really good character design! it really made u captures the image of the characters and remember them by just one glance~~!!!! with some many different body shapes and details in the design, you can never get bored looking at the characters~!! and it adds up to the interest of the story~!

the music is also beautifully done. i really like the main theme alot. it sounds.. sad.. and touching, so full of emotion. i really think it matches the story theme really well... now i really want to look for the corpse bride soundtrack! HAHA!! the Jazz song sung by the skeleton singers in the animation is very interesting too! haha~ i cant really remember the lyrics well... but just a little bit of the chorus.. which goes like "die... die... everyone eventually will die..." or sumting like tat.. haha, kinda interesting! (^o^)b

in the whole story, i like the corpse bride the most... well, not just that she is the main character... but also her personality and her character. (lots of spoilers here... read if u want.. haha) she had a really sad past where she elope with the man she loved.. but to end up being killed by him and with all her money stolen... i really pity her... and she was so heart broken.. and when she met victor, the main lead character in the story, who "accidentally proposed" to her when he was rehearsing his wedding speech at the graves... she thought she finally found her real love.. but then.. it did not appear to be true... even tho dead.. she still can feel the heart pain and sadness... i find that really saddening... i mean... she had experienced such pasts before... but she.. just cant seem to be able to get the happiness she always hopes for even after death... sigh... but when the story goes on.. when victor thought victoria is actually married to another man already (... i wonder how interesting.. or irony? that they used the names "victor" and "victoria" to be a couple.... ) , they seem to attracted each other, and victor even agreed to be dead so that they can be truly married. I felt happy for the corpse bride and on the otherhand i really pity victoria coz she was forced to marry to that evil guy and can never be with her beloved forever.... well... as the story goes on.... victor and corpse bride went "upstairs" to the land of the living to hold their wedding... but victoria happened to reach the church and see them doing their wedding speech... the corspe bride actually stopped victor from drinking to poison wine and decided to let victor be with victoria instead... it was really touching... when she said "my happiness was taken away before, now i could not take happiness away from someone else too"... i felt then, that it was most unfortunate that she had to die because she was conned by that evil guy... she ought to have a blissed life full of happiness and love.. the corpse bride is so forgiving, with a heart of gold. and she understands the true meaning of love and that loving someone does not mean she has to be with him forever, but that he can live on happily.... and do sacrifice when u need to..... so she decided that she should set victor free and let him live on with his true love victoria... and then she transformed into a group of butterflies and flew up towards the moon....

i really like corpse bride, the animation and story is just so absolutely beautifully done. i'm giving it a 5/5 stars and if there's a chance, everyone should go and watch it at least once.
